LWT Mainstage presents Ruben Santiago-Hudson in "Lackawanna Blues"...

Dear TAML member,

Long Wharf Theatre (LWT) will present the critically acclaimed music-filled play "Lackawanna Blues", directed by Loretta Greco, written and performed by Tony Award-winner Ruben Santiago-Hudson (Seven Guitars), and accompanied by original music from masterful blues composer and guitarist Bill Sims, Jr..

Tony Award-winning actor Ruben Santiago-Hudson's Obie Award-winning drama lovingly transports us back to the days of his youth in Lackawanna, New York, in this tender, soulful ode to the remarkable woman who raised him. Santiago-Hudson brings to life more than twenty rich and colorful characters in a vivid recollection of his days with his beloved Miss Rachel in her boarding-house, a place where men and women with little hope could find love and care and a second chance at life.

Abandoned by his mother, Santiago-Hudson grew up in the boarding house with the tough, yet compassionate Miss Rachel -- affectionately known as "Nanny" -- and a crowd of singular lost souls and downhearted dreamers who found solace under her roof.
